What a migration is,
and what it is not.
What is the difference between a migration and a redesign?
A redesign changes how the site looks and what it says. A migration changes where it lives. Many sites need both, but some only need the move: the design is fine, the platform is slow, the monthly fee keeps climbing, or the builder will not let you add the schema Google wants.
We do the move cleanly on its own, or fold it into a rebuild. Either way the rule is the same. Every old address gets a new home and a permanent redirect before the new site goes live.
Will moving off WordPress or Wix hurt my Google rankings?
It does when the move is sloppy. Pages disappear, old links hit a dead end, and Google drops the rankings those pages earned. It does not when every URL is mapped first. Google follows a permanent redirect and carries the ranking to the new page.
We crawl your current site, pull the pages that earn traffic from Search Console, and write the redirect map before a single page is built. Burger Boy came to us after a domain change had taken their clicks to zero. Fixing the moves is how they got to 169,000 clicks in a year.
Do I lose my domain, my email or my content in a migration?
No. Your domain stays with you and we point it at the new site when it is ready. Your email runs through your domain’s mail provider, not the website builder, so it keeps working through the switch. We move your content over and clean it up as we go.
The only things that stay behind are the platform’s locked pieces: the theme, the plugins and the builder’s own page code. Those are the parts that were slowing you down.
What crosses over
Everything that earns.
Nothing that drags.
How a migration runs
Four steps, and the old site stays up until the new one is ready.
Questions San Antonio businesses ask us
Migrations, answered.
A straight move usually takes two to three weeks. If the site also needs new pages to match your Google Business Profile, plan on two to five. The old site stays live the whole time, so there is no gap.
Yes. The crawl and the redirect map are the same job at any size, just longer. Blog archives and old product pages are mapped like everything else, and pages nobody visits can be retired on purpose instead of lost by accident.
That is common on older Wix and WordPress sites, and it is often why owners call us. Every form on the new site is sent to your inbox and tested before launch, and we check it again on a schedule.
Not for a move on the same domain. The redirects do the telling. If your domain changes too, we handle the change of address in Search Console and keep both verified while Google catches up.
